Jan. 3, 2013, Tucson, AZ — The January Tomato and Lettuce Intensive Short Courses (Jan. 2 – 9) of the University of Arizona/Controlled Environment Agriculture Center have been successfully filled to capacity, and are now in progress!
That’s good news for the program, but not so for those with interest and need, but who could not attend.
UA/CEAC has created this Special Free Opportunity, and invite growers to view selected presentations on Jan. 7.
The only “cost” is your time. This opportunity will bring to you presentations by our experts in greenhouse crop production, including:
• Dr. Patricia (Pat) Rorabaugh and Myles Lewis
1:00 – 2:30 p.m. [Tucson Time – Mountain Time]
Environmental Control Requirements for Greenhouse Tomato and Lettuce Production — Set-points (for tomato and lettuce); how the environment affects plants (and vice versa); real-time monitoring (example, CEAC – “Tomatoes Live2!”); and deciphering your greenhouse (example, USDA “Virtual Grower.”)
• Dr. Merle Jensen
7:00 – 8:00 p.m. [Tucson Time]
Hydroponic Growing Systems and the Crops They Support: Today and Tomorrow — Structures, plant environments and nutrient solution delivery.
Click on this link at the times indicated above, and join the presentation. You will have access to the audio and video of the presentations. And, you could send an email to
with your questions during the presentations, and we will respond during the Q&A period.
This seminar will be web cast at http://cals.arizona.edu/ecat/webcasts/ceac
