Aug. 22, 2016, Ancaster, Ont. – The Green Organic Dutchman Ltd. is now a Licensed Producer under the Marijuana for Medical Purposes Regulations (MMPR).

Scott Skinner and Jeannette VanderMarel are the co-founders and owners of Health Canada’s newly licensed cannabis farm near Hamilton. Scott Skinner will be managing operations as the president and senior person in charge.

“We are proud of our new and purpose built facility and are excited to begin producing organically grown quality cannabis for patients across Canada,” says Skinner.

“I look forward to working closely with Health Canada to ensure we produce a safe and high quality product,” says Skinner in describing his exacting Quality Assurance program.

‘ECO-FRIENDLY, CARBON SENSITIVE DESIGN’

“Our expansion plans include greenhouse and buildings, and we will maintain our eco-friendly, carbon sensitive design. With a 10 kW solar array and geothermal heating in addition to our reforestation efforts, we value ecological practices on our 25-acre farm.”

Jeannette’s daughter Breanne passed away in 2003 as a result of a severe epilepsy disorder, very likely Dravet syndrome. Breanne was never given cannabis as reports of cannabis for seizure treatment weren’t widely available at the time.

“My hope is that cannabis medicines will help to reduce the devastating impact of seizure disorders,” said VanderMarel, a registered nurse.

Angelina Adam will be taking on a management role with the firm. “Angelina’s attention to detail, integrity and honesty are great assets to the company,” says Skinner.

Green Organic Dutchman Ltd. is a family farm, not a pharmaceutical company, that wants to produce a great product in small batches using craft growing, all natural and organic principles.
