Flowers Canada (Ontario) Inc. and Flowers Canada Retail Reach Agreement to Consolidate

The Board of Directors of Flowers Canada (Ontario) Inc., the
association representing the interests of all members of the value
chain in the floriculture sector in Ontario including retailers and
growers has agreed in principle to move the management of its retail
boards, and all projects belonging to the Retail sector in Ontario,
under the umbrella of the National Retail organization, Flowers Canada
Retail.

The Board of Directors of Flowers Canada (Ontario) Inc., the association representing the interests of all members of the value chain in the floriculture sector in Ontario including retailers and growers has agreed in principle to move the management of its retail boards, and all projects belonging to the Retail sector in Ontario, under the umbrella of the National Retail organization, Flowers Canada Retail.

The president of Flowers Canada Retail, Cor Smith and the president of Flowers Canada (Ontario) Inc., John McNiven Jr. have stated this is a positive move for the retail sector in Canada.  It brings all the florists in Canada under one roof and will create a strong branding and single source messaging for the retail business in Canada.

In effect Flowers Canada (Ontario) Inc. will now become a grower organization representing the interests of growers in Ontario.  The recent restructuring of Flowers Canada Inc. into the two sector divisions now known as FCR and FCG has now resulted in each sector being managed at one location for each in Canada.  Executive director Arman Patel from Ottawa will manage FCR, and FCO executive director Dr. Irwin Smith will manage FCG.
