FCO hosting industry update next month

Dec. 16, 2011, Jordan, Ont. – Flowers Canada Ontario will update members on association priorities at a meeting here on Jan. 12.

The meeting will be held at the Best Western Beacon Harbourside. Registration begins at 8:30. Program highlights include:

• 9:00 a.m. – Pest Management in Greenhouse Ornamentals: Successes, Challenges and Future Endeavours, presented by Cary Gates.

• 9:45 a.m. – Phytosanitary Update: CFIA Challenges, by Michel-Antoine Renaud.

• 10:30 a.m. – Government Relations – TOGA (the Ontario Greenhouse Alliance), FCO (Flowers Canada Ontario), FCG (Flowers Canada Growers), and COHA (Canadian Ornamental Horticulture Alliance): Representing the Grower, by James Farrar and Dean Shoemaker.

• 11:15 a.m. – The Future of Our Industry: A Roundtable Discussion, chaired by Gerard Schouwenaar.

The meeting will conclude with lunch served to registered guests.
