Written by Dave Harrison
Aug. 17, 2011, Kingsville, Ont. – Adrian Abbott has joined JemD International as director of operations.
Abbott was previously director of marketing and industry relations with B.C. Tree Fruits.

Jim DiMenna, president of JemD International and 2011 Canadian Produce Man of the Year, made the announcement. Abbott has also been honoured with the coveted Canadian Produce Man of the Year, awarded to him in 2010.

“Adrian joining our team is truly an achievement for our company,” says DiMenna. “With his knowledge and vast experience in produce operations, Adrian will positively contribute to the growth of our company as we continue our expansions throughout North America.”

Abbott will oversee the day-to-day operations of the distribution centre and facility. He will be responsible for occupational health and safety initiatives, food safety programs, audits and PTI milestones, and industry relations.

JemD International has been providing grocery retailers with 12 months of greenhouse freshness for over two decades. It has six North American distribution centres with regional sales teams.
