July 27, 2011, Rivière-du-Loup, Qué. — Premier Tech has acquired Malpec Peat Moss Ltd. of Rexton, New Brunswick.
Premier Tech is welcoming 52 Malpec employees to its team, raising overall employment to close to 2,100 worldwide. Premier Tech operates in seven provinces and 15 countries.
These new team members will join the Premier Tech Horticulture business unit, in the Horticulture and Agriculture Group, with a view to strengthening the company’s manufacturing presence in New Brunswick.
The acquisition of Malpec will also support the deployment of various manufacturing and commercial strategies while increasing Premier Tech Horticulture’s strategic reserves of sphagnum peat moss in Eastern Canada.
