Written by Dave Harrison
Jan. 4, 2011 – The World Greenhouse Vegetable Statistics 2011 publication is now available, and according to its author, there are some 995,501 acres now in production.

This total is based on evaluations of the most recent official government statistics and published research from 284 verified reports for 115 countries, within the listed definition of a “greenhouse.”

The complete 73-page report, with specific details on greenhouse vegetable production in 115 countries, is now available at: http://cuestaroble.com/statistics.aspx (www.cuestaroble.com). Included in this report are individual state/provincial data for the U.S., Canada and Mexico.

The report author is a greenhouse vegetable production consultant, with 25 years of research and extension experience at the University of California, Davis.
