EPS supplies cogen system in Guelph
Written by Dave Harrison
Sept. 22, 2010, Guelph, Ont. – EPS Ltd. (www.epsenergy.ca), Canada’s exclusive distributor of cogeneration systems manufactured by 2G Energietechnik (www.2-g.de) from Germany, has received an order from the City of Guelph for a natural gas-fuelled cogeneration system to be installed at the West End Community Centre in Guelph. This order represents the third 2G-packaged cogeneration system destined for the Canadian market this year.

The West End Community Centre (WECC) is a modern, fully accessible, multi-purpose community centre that has a full range of facilities ranging from an aquatic facility, an NHL-sized twin-pad arena, a gymnasium, community meeting rooms, café and a library. The cogeneration system will provide power and heating to the community centre, improving the building’s energy efficiency, and help reduce Ontario’s greenhouse gas emissions. In the event of a power outage, the CHP system will furthermore provide standby power to the community centre.
