California Spring Trials dates for 2011 revised

Aug. 4, 2010, Columbus,  Ohio – The hosts of the California Spring Trials met during the recent OFA Short Course and have revised dates for the 2011 California Spring Trials.

The new dates chosen for 2011 are Saturday, March 26, through Friday, April 1. Individual locations may choose to extend those dates on either side to accommodate additional visitors but those seven days make up the core of the event. Contact trial hosts or check web sites to find specific dates for each trial stop.

The California Spring Trials is a horticulture industry event held annually for more than 40 years. Hosted by the participating breeding companies, the California Spring Trials is a venue for unveiling new and innovative plants and programs, peer-to-peer networking, unique educational opportunities, inspirational displays and much more.

Attendees include broker reps, growers, retailers, landscapers and media from all over the world.

“Because spring is spring, and busy for everyone, it can be a challenge to set the dates. We take into consideration other industry events, the selling season across the levels, the number of hosts and the sheer size of California, and, of course, the best time to grow quality plant material that truly represents its potential. Visitors can be assured our mission is to choose dates that can work for all,” says John Gaydos, director of Product Development and Promotion with Proven Winners North America.

Due to the changing needs of attendees and trial hosts, the dates for Spring Trials from 2012 onwards will be agreed upon annually during the OFA Short Course, and then announced shortly thereafter.

The National Garden Bureau, a non-profit organization promoting horticulture, is acting as communication coordinator on behalf of the California Spring Trials.
