Grower Day: it’s not too late to register
Written by Dave Harrison

June 15, 2010, Brantford, Ont. – Have you registered yet for this week’s Greenhouse Canada Grower Day ? It’s not too late.

This is a year of change for the annual event, being held on Friday (June 18).

First, there’s a new venue; it will be held at the Best Western Brant Park Inn and Conference Centre in Brantford, Ontario, located along Highway 403 at the Wayne Gretzky Parkway exit.

And it will feature two tracks – ornamental and vegetable – that will run concurrently.

The speakers’ program is our best ever, with information sure to help you better grow your business.

Topics on the ornamental side include:

• Growing better garden mum crops.

• The latest on thrip control.

• Avoiding and solving petunia problems.

• Marketing in the 21st century.

Topics on the vegetable side include:

• Innovations in vegetable growing.

• Keeping it clean to fight pests.

• Rootzone management strategies.

• Improving efficiencies.

• Bumblebee sustainability.

A joint session, led by Dr. Michael Brownbridge of Vineland Research and Innovation Centre , will focus on new fungal biocontrol agents, and how they can work for you.

And we’re also hosting our largest ever trade show with more than 20 booths offering a range of products and services. It’s a one-stop shopping opportunity.

We hope to see you in Brantford on Friday. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. The registration fee includes lunch and coffee breaks.
