May 17, 2010, Vancouver, B.C. – Proven Winners celebrated the beginning of spring with the annual “Spring Work Party” on April 18th in Vancouver. In partnership with QMFM Radio, the garden was named in memory of Marjorie Ashdown, a dedicated local garden enthusiast who had originally maintained the garden as a place of beauty for her community.

The event was attended by hundreds of local residents as well as the local Sparks group of Girl Guides who assisted with planting Proven Winners flowers. The focus of the event was to honour and educate local children on the beauty and benefits of gardening.

“Individuals like Marjorie are a shining example of how one person can make a difference,” said Marshall Dirks, director of marketing for Proven Winners. “Our goal is to encourage people of all ages to experience the benefits of gardening utilizing quality products that are easy, fun and rewarding.”
