Ball highlights ‘green’ accomplishments
Written by Dave Harrison
ball_is_green Jan. 15, 2010, West Chicago, IL – Delivering on its “Grow a Green Future” strategy, Ball Horticultural Company has released its first Sustainability Report, which colorfully presents the sustainable measures implemented by Ball entities worldwide.

As a plant breeding and horticultural distribution company with 3,300 employees on six continents operating in 20 countries, Ball recognizes it is a complex and challenging process to always make sustainable decisions.

Ball assumes this challenge with enthusiasm and optimism. “We have witnessed some remarkable innovations, exciting new products and groundbreaking processes from our locations around the world. This report presents a snapshot of our most significant sustainability accomplishments,” says Drew Effron, product manager for Ball Innovations.

The three key areas addressed in the Sustainability Report are:

·   Creating a sustainable supply chain

·   Developing, sourcing and distributing sustainable products

·   Advancing social and environmental stewardship.
