Dec. 14, 2009, Langley, British Columbia – John Hoekstra has been
appointed chief financial officer with Bevo Agro Inc. He is replacing Don
Fairholm who is retiring to his private practice, Fairholm and Company. Mr.
Fairholm will continue as a director of the company.
Hoekstra has also been elected to Bevo’s board of directors.
He has been the controller of Bevo Farms Ltd., the company’s wholly owned
subsidiary, since July of 2004. Prior to joining Bevo Farms Ltd., he worked at
Air Liquide Canada Inc. as supply chain manager, and at Unitor Ships Service
(Canada) Ltd. as branch manager.
Hoekstra graduated from Redeemer University in 1991 with a degree in
business administration, and expects to obtain his CGA designation in the new
year.
Bevo Agro is a leading North American propagator of vegetable plants,
including tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers as well as bedding plants, flowers and
poinsettias. In addition to being a certified organic grower, Bevo also
produces cucumbers that are marketed and sold through a licensed marketing
agency.
Bevo operates a 34-acre production facility.
