Canadian Greenhouse Conference registration closes Oct. 1, 2009.

This year’s conference is being held Oct. 7-8 at the Toronto International Centre. The trade show includes more than 175 exhibitors and will be open on Oct. 7 from 9-7, and on Oct. 8 from 9-4.

Pre-conference bus tours will be held Oct. 6. The flower tour will visit operations in the London and St. Thomas areas, while the vegetable tour is headed to Leamington.

Educational sessions highlights include keynote speakers Philip Martin of the University of California/Davis discussing Labour Issues, and Joel Goldsmith of Syngenta with observations on The Future As We See It.

Noted retailing guru Judy Sharpton will lead a full-day garden centre workshop.

An organic workshop for vegetable growers has also been scheduled.

New this year is a Career Corner for job seekers and companies in need of some help.

The New Product and New Variety areas are also popular stops for growers looking for new ways to boost profitability.
