Gummy Stem Blight control
Written by BASF Canada and Engage Agro
cucumbersFeb. 23, 2009 — “Pristine® Fungicide,” from BASF Canada, has received an Emergency Use label expansion for control of Gummy Stem Blight (Didymebasf_logolla bryoniae) and for suppression of powdery mildew (Podosphaera xanthii) in greenhouse cucumbers. It is available in Alberta, British Columbia and Ontario until the end of 2009.

“Pristine” must be applied preventively, before disease symptoms appear, to be effective and may be used once per crop cycle at 1.0 to 1.2 kg product per hectare. The pre-harvest interval is zero days and re-entry into a treated area should be delayed until residues have dried. Use the higher rate when disease conditions are severe.

“Pristine” should be used as part of an integrated pest management program in rotation with other disease management products having different modes of action.

To obtain a copy of the product label, visit www.agsolutions.ca or call Engage Agro at 866-613-3336.
