If you’re looking to do a little one-stop shopping for next vineland_07_pointsyear’s poinsettia crop, mark Dec. 4 on your calendar. That’s the date of the 2008 Poinsettia Cultivar Evaluation Open House at the Vineland Research & Innovation Centre, and sponsored by the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs.
Some 110 cultivars are included. Participating breeders include Dummen, Paul Ecke Ranch, Syngenta (Fischer) and Selecta First Class.
The open house will run from 1 to 4:30 p.m. For more information, contact OMAFRA greenhouse floriculture specialist Wayne Brown at 905-562-4141, ext 179, or This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it
