Pristine™ gains emergency use on cukes
Written by Engage Agro
newprodpristinePristine™, a broad-spectrum fungicide from BASF Canada, has received another emergency use registration for greenhouse cucumbers. It is for sale and use in Alberta, British Columbia and Ontario for the control of powdery mildew and gummy stem blight.
The registration expires on December 31, 2008. Pristine should be used as a foliar spray before symptoms appear. Curative use, when severe symptoms are already apparent, can lead to selection for resistant biotypes or reduced performance. This risk is particularly high in structures where host, pathogen and environment are sometimes ideal for rapid disease progression.
