FAMILIAR 'NEW' PLAYER IN VEG SECTOR
There’s a new major player in the North American greenhouse vegetable industry. B.C. Hot House Foods Inc. and Greenhouse Produce Company LLC have formed a new consolidated company. There’s a new major player in the North American greenhouse vegetable industry. B.C. Hot House Foods Inc. and Greenhouse Produce Company LLC have formed a new consolidated company.

New in name only, Pan American Foods LLC merges two greenhouse industry leaders, bringing together over 30 years of growing and marketing experience. Pan American Foods is owned by its grower-members.

The company is led by president Brian Beggs. Sales and marketing is directed by vice-president Fried De Schouwer. “The primary benefits of the merger are the increased efficiencies and value that come with a larger supply base and distribution network,” notes Beggs. “With one call, Pan American Foods customers can access Canadian-grown and Mexican-grown greenhouse products, sold through eight warehouse/ distribution facilities across the U.S. and Canada, 12 months of the year. All product offerings will be sold under the established B.C. Hot House brand.”
