Niagara Entrepreneur of the Year Awards. This award acknowledges
outstanding entrepreneurial achievement within the agricultural sector.
Researcher receives prestigious award

Alta. — Dr. Ron Howard, a plant pathologist with Alberta Agriculture and Rural Development, was recently awarded the Alberta Science and
Technology Leadership Foundations (ASTech) Dow AgroSciences/ASTec
Innovation in Agricultural Science Award.
Latest ornamental plant varieties at open house
Aug. 7, 2008, Milton, Ont. — Landscape Ontario will unveil some of the newest varieties of plants and flowers at a special open house taking place on Aug. 20 in Milton and Guelph. Each year, horticulturists at the University of Guelph plant new varieties in trial gardens to evaluate how they will fare in the gardens of consumers, parks and institutions around Ontario, and other similar environments.

Niagara ‘walkabouts’ with Allan Armitage
