Oct. 25, 2015, Delta, B.C. – Windset Farms® has added a new tomato to its Cameo® Elite brand to the North American market in partnership with Axia Vegetable Seeds of the Netherlands.

“This variety is exceptionally sweet with a great taste profile.”

An exciting spin on the cherry tomato, Cameo Elite tomatoes will be enjoyed by tomato connoisseurs. It has particularly high brix levels with a lovely, sweet bite that makes it perfect for snacking.

Windset Farms will be offering them in various pack sizes and styles designed for every customer, including snack formats and top sealed packages.

“We are very excited to partner with Windset Farms, who are not only great marketers of greenhouse products in North America, but we consider one of the best tomato growers in the world,” said Alois van Vliet, CEO of Axia Vegetable Seeds.

“They uphold the same care, attention and passion for growing as we do in creating our seeds.”

Windset is currently growing Cameo Elite tomatoes year-round in some of the most technologically advanced greenhouses in the world, while utilizing sustainable growing systems such as solar panels for electricity production and water management systems to enhance water conservation.

The new Cameo Elite tomato will be one of the first Windset Farms products that will be packaged in top seal technology.

“Our goal is to provide reliable, healthy and nutritious food that meets the demands of an increasing population and a delicate planet,” says Newell.

“Top seal will help us reduce consumable packaging by up to 20 per cent, enabling us to further enhance our sustainability efforts.”
